AN XRATED DAY

But it is an Xray day. I have to have my broken wrist (8 months ago) re xrayed this morning. I have very restricted mobility in the wrist and hand and have been sent for another xray. Not to the Hospital, but to the large Health Centre in Nerja where they have an Xray department. We have a fairly large Health Centre here in Torrox Village, but it do not have xray facilities. We have a full and very general service for all types of health problems, including an Ambulance Station, but no xrays.

My appointment is 11am and that is the time I went in. Couple of mins for them to be taken and then I am away, together with the Xray photos themselves, which is the practice here in Andalucia. I now have to re see my doctor and get his opinion and the appointment for this is tomorrow, Tuesday, so no Farmer's Market in Velez-Malaga this week for me.

TORROX COSTA MARKET DAY.

We went shopping just for some bits after having the Xrays taken, but it was horrendous to park as it is Torrox Costa's weekly outdoor market. One of the best ones, but I would say that wouldn't I! We gave up trying to park in the end and settled for an evening trip to Malaga. 

MALAGA AND BLACK PAINT

Going to Malaga for us is really like when we lived in the Potteries and went into Hanley! It has become our local town and can sometimes only take us 40 mins to get there.  This time we wanted a good selection of paint.  The work in Casa Sandra's cul-de-sac has at last, at long last, come to an end and I can begin the replanting. For a few years now all our doors i.e. Casa Sandra's, Casa Sueno's, our own front door and the door to my other's half den have been painted blue.  After trying in the DIY shop to choose a jointly liked blue paint. I just said 'For goodness sakes, paint it all black'. The other half was so shocked, he said' Do you mean it?', so we bought black paint and all the doors and the decora tion on the lower half of the walls will now be black. It will be a very shockable change but one I really think will work. Imagine, black against the very white walls plus some replanting with vivid flowers! The village of Torrox is one of Spain famous white villages. It is a tradition that nearly every year the people of the village repaint their house walls a brilliant white, but the rest of the work on the walls is your own choice. Some people, like us, have 'knobbly cement' on the lower part of the house walls, some have it tiled, some take the white paint down the street level.
