The area around Torrox Pueblo is ideal for walking
...........whether
you are a complete amateur or an experienced enthusiast!
And with
the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, you have
a vast choice of views on offer. Many of the inland walks are on
unsurfaced through-ways, with a few old mule-tracks for added
interest.
There is a wealth of beautiful countryside waiting to be discovered
behind the coastal area and what better way than by foot.
One of the shorter walks could take you around the local archeological
sights - thermal baths, ceramic furnaces, villa, fish-salting
factory, necropolis etc, which are situated in the area of
Torrox Costa.
Or, you could walk up from Torrox Costa to the
Pueblo, passing through pleasant fruit-farming countryside......prickerly
pears, avocados, figs, oranges, nectarines - all to be seen in
their
season - plus the more traditional olives and vines. A more
strenuous walk
could take you through countryside giving you views of the
local Tejeda and Almijara mountains, plus on a clear day
allowing you
to see even the Punta de Europa at the southern tip of Gibraltar!.
Think what a change it would be to walk in the
sunshine...........why not try it!
