There are many ways to describe this wonderful new pastime.....Making Memories - Capturing the Moment - Cherishing the Times - Telling your story - Legacies of Love - Heirloom Treasures...................

Originating in Victorian times, scrapbooking has now been brought into the 21st century, preserving your precious photos safely, whilst 'telling the story' behind your pictures and captured memories.

So WHY scrapbook?

It is an ideal creative outlet for both men and women (though at the moment most scrapbookers are female). It is very liberating, you can tell your OWN story, in your OWN way.....saying what YOU want to say
and showing what YOU want to show....in your own creative style and your own voice.

The process of getting ready to start your scrapbooking will involve you in a few search and rescue opera tions: searching for and rescuing your photos (from in the cardboard box under the bed?!!!!!) and your memorabilia, searching your memory to rescue the many stories you have heard over the years You can leave a legacy for future generations or record the legacy left to you by your own ancestors. You can scrapbook current family events.. ......birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, life stories.

Why not create a scrapbook page for any kind of special occasion to capture your memories forever in a safe and lasting way?

You can scrapbook using many different themes...........do it for babies, children, pets, gardening themes, cookery themes, day out themes............
and using many differing styles.........shutterbug style (focusing almost exclusively on photographs); artist's style (using art materials like watercolours and coloured pencils); classic style (think basic black dress
and pearls!); crafty style (for those of us who love to cut, glue and construct); shabby-chic (this reflects a vintage worn and torn look); heritage style ( harks back to olden days using sepia tones etc); modern
style ( cleans shapes and lines) and pop style ( bold, edgy and fun).

Your style will also differ for varying occasions i.e. a 50th anniversary scrapbook will be very different from say a pre-school childs birthday party

Scrapbooking can also be used in other ways, for example Healing........... a benificial way of helping someone through a time of grieving and sadness by enabling them to come to terms with their life using photos and memories.

So, remember when you were a child, having a sugar paper scrapbook to keep cuttings, tickets, holiday bits and pieces, special birthday cars and postcards? All this can now be done in the new form of scrapbooking, which involves the preservation of photographs and memories, using beautiful papers and embellishments. All being recorded and preserved in albums making wonderful keepsakes that can be enjoyed by generations to come
