See what our guests say about their Spanish-hols holiday.
Casa Sandra
Had a great time. Perfect base for exploring the area - or house hunting as we were! Sandra and John are great - a wealth of local information - so THANK YOU.
Weather fantastic - even the 9 hour thunderstorm!
However, don't forget to 'duck' at the bathroom door - OUCH!! Sharon and Denis Deeney, Scotland

Lovely time at Casa Sandra. Friendly people - even if you don't speak Spanish - give it a go! Fantastic weather. Lovely beaches and the mountains are well worth a visit. Good, inexpensive eating and drinking. El Figon is a bit more expensive than eating in the square but well worth a visit.
We'll definately be coming back. Mick and Sue, Pool-in-Wharfedate, England

La Casa Suena has been the perfect place to unwind and leave the rat-race behind. Torrox Pueblo is a real traditional Spanish village which becomes a dreamy-like haze from 2-5pm everyday. The locals are very welcoming. I would strongly recommend:
1. A visit to Granada
2. A journey through the Nerja Caves
3. And a meal in the local Plaza at a restaurant call Almanzor.
Sandra has been a great host, and Torrox is a place where birds sing all the time.....and rightly so. Lisa, Southern Ireland

A wonderful relaxing break in excellent weather - only two days out - Nerja and frigiliana - both served to show us that life in Torrox Pueblo is best. Spent most of our time exploring the village and alternating between the roof terrace and the Plaza for relaxation purposes. We enjoyed the fantastically cheap fresh vegatables (we are veggies!), the excellent wine (also cheap) and the sense of community.
Special thanks to Sandra for being helpful and kind, but never intrusive.
we will be back. Lynn and Steve, Saddleworth, England

Had a nice time at Casa Sandra. Weather was nice for February. The buses and taxies easy to get and quite frequent. A mixture of English, German and Spanish Restaurants in Torrox. George and Rose, London, England

Another wonderful week at Casa Sandra. Torrox was just as we remembered - a true Andalucian white village, shaded and cool in the sun's heat.
Amazed at the weather for the time of year - late high summer in England. Glorious!
Gibraltar was fascinating - those Barbary apes playing and pinching titbits. Good prices on spirits but Spanish customs are very keen, so beware!
Almunecar market was fun too - quite large with some bargains to be had.
We also visited Mijas - bit of a tourist trap.
The beaches beyond Nerja are also great - beautiful bays. We also visited La Herradura - nice beach and not too commercial.
Thanks John and Val, Nantwich, England

Sad to be leaving our cosy holiday home after a lovely relaxing week. Everyone in the village made us welcome. We're glad we chose Torrox rather than a busy resort. We tried several beaches but our favourite was on the coast road before you get to Nerja camosite. The pool was popular with Nayana (3 yeard old) in the afternoons as it has a paddling pool and she made friends with other children there as well as in the town centre later every evening. We tried lots of great tapas in the square and drove up to Competa one day for a nice lunch.
We bought fresh bread and great croissants, and the markets have excellent fruit and meat. Chorizo and Jamon Serrano were our staple picnic diet.
Granada was an easy drive but a long queue, even early in the morning - we'll pre-book next time. People behind us queued for 4 hours but didn't get in.
Thanks Sandra for a lovely stay. Kay, Theresa and Nayana, London, England

Thanks for a lovely holiday. With a 9 year old boy we had to compromise and spend a day at the beach and went on a trip the other.
Our favourite beach was outside Torrox, right on the border and it had a restaurant and toilets and a shop where you could buy icecream. Also if you wished you could hire deckchairs and stay in the shade under umbrellas. it was always relatively quiet. We drove to Ronda, which took ages but was through lovely countryside but beware of car sickness. On the way home we went to Marbella beach, which was too noisey and not our cup of tea. The Alhambra in Granada was lovely and we were really lucky to get in on the same day. it will be even quicker and easier to get there when the new motorway is finished.
Hope we can come back. Regine and Anthony Watts, Ipswich, England and Arisue, Berlin, Germany

Had a great holiday - loved Torrox Pueblo - lovely village and friendly people. Paco's in the square for dinner - lovely to 'people watch'. Didn't hire a car and had great fun with the taxi drivers - we know them all now! The beach beside the Merendero restaurant is the best (just outside Torrox Costa going to Nerja) and the sea food served there is great. Found the back road to the village square which was a God send - no steps! Will definately come back. Lynne, Limerick, Ireland
